๐ก Prompt Library
Look, man. The AI is right there. It’s ready. It wants to help you. The only thing standing between you and actually useful output is how you talk to it. That’s where this library comes in. Lebotski has been through the trials โ the vague responses, the generic lists, the “here are five bullet points that say nothing” moments โ and he’s collected the prompts that actually work. Whether you’re meal planning, job hunting, writing a toast for your cousin’s wedding, or just trying to get through your to-do list without losing your mind, there’s something here for you. Copy them, tweak them, make them yours. The AI doesn’t judge. It abides.
๐ง Better Prompts, Better Results
Tips and prompt templates to help you prompt like a pro. Try these to get more clarity, creativity, or precision from your AI tools:
- ๐ “Help me refine this prompt:”
Help me improve the following prompt so it generates more specific, engaging results: [insert your prompt here] - ๐ “Act like a prompt engineer:”
Act like a prompt engineer. Rewrite this prompt for clarity, tone, and structure: [insert prompt] - ๐ “Compare prompt styles:”
Show me three different versions of this prompt: one concise, one creative, and one technical: [insert prompt] - ๐ “Break it down step-by-step:”
Can you break this prompt into a step-by-step process for better results? [insert prompt] - ๐งช “A/B test this prompt idea:”
Give me two different versions of this idea so I can test which one works better: [describe your idea]
Five more ways to stop getting meh answers and start getting good ones:
- ๐ “Tell it who you are:”
Context is everything. The AI has no idea if you’re a 22-year-old college student or a 52-year-old plumber unless you say so. Start with: I’m a [describe yourself] looking for help with [topic]. Keep it practical and don’t assume I have any background knowledge. You’ll immediately get more relevant answers. - ๐ “Give it an example of what you want:”
Saying “write me something like this” is one of the most powerful moves you can make. Paste in an example โ a paragraph you like, an email tone you’re going for, a format that works for you โ and say: Write something similar to this in style and tone: [paste your example] - ๐ “Ask it to explain its reasoning:”
If an answer feels off or you just want to understand the logic, add this to the end of any prompt: After you answer, explain the reasoning or assumptions behind your response. This is especially useful for advice, recommendations, or anything where you’d normally wonder “but why?” - ๐ซ “Tell it what you don’t want:”
Most people only describe what they want. Describing what they don’t want is just as useful. Try: Give me suggestions for [topic], but avoid anything that’s too expensive, too technical, or requires specialized equipment. Constraints make the AI sharper, not lazier. - ๐ “Ask it to try again differently:”
If the first response misses the mark, don’t just copy-paste a slightly different version of the same prompt. Instead say: That’s not quite what I was looking for. Can you try again, this time focusing more on [specific element] and less on [what you didn’t like]? One clear redirect usually fixes it.

๐ Lebotski’s Prompting Golden Rules
Lebotski has been in the trenches. He’s wrestled with vague AI responses. He’s gotten five-paragraph essays when he wanted a one-liner. He’s been burned by “here are some general suggestions” when he needed real answers. These are the rules he lives by. Follow them and the AI will treat you right.
-
Be specific or get generic.
The AI gives back what you put in. “Write me something about dogs” will get you something about dogs. “Write me a funny 3-sentence Instagram caption for a photo of my lazy basset hound who knocked over a trash can” will get you something you can actually use. Details are not extra work โ they’re the job. -
Talk to it like a coworker, not a search engine.
Stop typing keywords and start typing sentences. You wouldn’t walk up to a human assistant and say “budget spreadsheet family four expenses.” You’d say “Can you help me make a simple budget for a family of four?” The AI responds the same way a person would โ with full context, it does much better work. -
Give it a role and it plays the part.
“Act as a personal trainer,” “Act as a financial advisor,” “Act as a no-nonsense editor” โ these are not weird things to say. They’re how you get the AI to shift into the right mode. A prompt that starts with a role gets a more focused, expert-sounding response. Try it once and you’ll never go back. -
One bad response doesn’t mean give up โ it means redirect.
The first answer is a draft, not a final. If it’s not right, push back. Say “That’s too formal,” or “I don’t love the tone โ can you try again with more personality?” You’re having a conversation. Use it like one. -
The more context you give, the less explaining you’ll do later.
Yes, it takes 20 extra seconds to give background. But it saves you three rounds of back-and-forth trying to correct a response that missed the point because it didn’t know your situation. Front-load the context. Who you are. What this is for. Who’s going to read it or see it. What “good” looks like to you. -
Tell it the format you need before it guesses wrong.
Do you want a numbered list? A short paragraph? A table? Three bullet points and nothing else? Say it up front. “Give me this as a numbered list with no more than one sentence per item” is a completely valid prompt. If you let the AI choose the format, it’ll choose wrong about half the time. -
Save what works. Build on it.
When you find a prompt that actually gives you great results, write it down somewhere. Change the one or two variables and use it again next time. The best prompters aren’t geniuses โ they’re people who kept the stuff that worked. You’re already halfway there.
